PSI Audio AVAA C214 Active Bass Trap
The PSI Audio AVAA C214 is an advanced active bass absorber designed and manufactured in Switzerland, developed to address low-frequency room resonances without conventional passive acoustic treatment or digital correction of the audio signal. Employing PSI Audio’s patented Active Velocity Acoustic Absorber technology, the C214 continuously monitors acoustic pressure through internal sensors and uses sophisticated digital signal processing to control its acoustic transducers. This creates a low acoustic impedance at the absorber, allowing excessive low-frequency energy to be absorbed rather than repeatedly reflected around the listening room. Operating across a broad frequency range of 15Hz to 160Hz, the AVAA C214 reduces modal decay and unwanted bass overhang, improving low-frequency definition, tonal clarity and the perception of musical detail.
Unlike conventional bass traps, which often require substantial physical volume to absorb very low frequencies, the AVAA C214 offers equivalent absorption of up to 45 times its physical size within a compact aluminium enclosure measuring just 210mm in diameter and 640mm in height. No room measurement, calibration or connection to the audio system is required. The unit operates independently of the loudspeakers and amplification, making it suitable for virtually any high-performance listening environment. Optional app control allows sensitivity adjustment and management of multiple units, while flexible placement and mounting options support discreet integration into domestic listening rooms, dedicated audio installations and professional studios.
