The Brinkmann Pi is a low-output moving coil cartridge engineered by Helmut Brinkmann to complement the company’s tonearms while delivering exceptional neutrality, tracking accuracy and dynamic expression. Designed and manufactured in Germany, its resonance-optimised three-piece aluminium body and carefully controlled effective mass create an ideal mechanical partnership with Brinkmann tonearms, whilst remaining highly compatible with many other high-quality designs.
A Micro Ridge nude diamond stylus, solid boron cantilever and copper voice coils contribute to its clarity, transient speed and precise retrieval of musical detail. Particular attention has been given to the rigidity of the magnetic circuit to minimise eddy currents, while the relatively high output for a low-output moving coil cartridge allows the Pi to deliver excellent dynamics and low noise when partnered with a quality phono stage.
