The Lyra Kleos is a low-impedance moving coil cartridge designed by Jonathan Carr to deliver exceptional tracking, resolution and dynamic expression. Building on the engineering principles introduced with the Delos, the Kleos features a more advanced body construction for improved energy transfer and resonance control. It is also the first model in the Lyra range to be available in both Standard and low-output SL variants, allowing users to optimise the cartridge for either active MC gain or step-up transformer-based systems.
A Lyra-designed long-footprint line-contact nude diamond stylus, solid boron cantilever and 6N high-purity copper coils contribute to its clarity, transient speed and precise retrieval of musical detail. The precision-machined 7075 aluminium body incorporates reduced-area headshell contact and non-parallel surfaces to minimise unwanted resonances, while its medium compliance and 8.8g weight make the Kleos suitable for a broad range of high-quality tonearms. The Standard version offers a 0.5mV output, while the Kleos SL reduces output to 0.25mV with lower internal impedance for systems designed around high-quality step-up transformers.
