The Gryphon Ethos is a reference CD player and digital-to-analogue converter engineered to extract exceptional performance from both Red Book compact discs and high-resolution digital sources. Designed and built in Denmark, it combines the dedicated StreamUnlimited CD-Pro8 transport with separate ESS SABRE ES9038PRO 32-bit DACs for each channel, operating in a true dual-mono, dual-differential configuration.
Independent temperature-compensated ultra-low-jitter clocks, dedicated power supplies and fully discrete Class A analogue output stages with zero negative feedback preserve timing accuracy, transparency and dynamic expression. USB playback supports PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD512, while user-selectable digital filters, asynchronous sample-rate conversion and comprehensive AES/EBU and BNC connectivity allow the Ethos to function as the digital centre of a reference high-end system.
