Gryphon Apex Mono Power Amplifiers (Pair)
The Gryphon Apex Mono is Gryphon Audio Designs’ flagship pure Class A monoblock power amplifier, engineered without conventional restrictions on size, weight or cost. Designed and manufactured in Denmark, each monoblock combines balanced dual-differential Class A input circuitry, an ultra-fast symmetrical Class A voltage amplification stage and zero global negative feedback to deliver exceptional transparency, dynamic authority and control.
Sixty-four very high-current bipolar output transistors, an enormous 1,040,000µF capacitor bank and two bespoke 2,000VA toroidal transformers in each monoblock provide extraordinary energy reserves. The Apex Mono delivers 225W into 8 ohms, 450W into 4 ohms, 880W into 2 ohms and 1,690W into 1 ohm. Fully regulated low-noise supplies for the voltage amplification stages, extensive constrained-layer chassis damping and Gryphon silver internal wiring complete an uncompromising design capable of controlling the most demanding loudspeakers while preserving exceptional refinement and musical resolution.
