Gryphon Commander Pre Amplifier
The Gryphon Commander is the company’s flagship reference preamplifier, engineered as an uncompromising expression of Gryphon’s four decades of analogue design experience. Designed and built in Denmark, its true dual-mono architecture employs fully discrete balanced Class A circuitry, zero global negative feedback and complete mechanical separation between the audio and power-supply sections to preserve exceptional transparency, dynamic expression and musical resolution.
A dedicated power-supply chassis contains four custom-made toroidal transformers and 90,000µF of capacitance per channel, with independent linear supplies for the analogue and digital control circuitry. An 85-step relay volume attenuator uses Charcroft Z-Foil ultra-precision resistors, while extensive constrained-layer damping, ultra-low-noise regulation and minimal internal wiring provide an exceptionally quiet and mechanically stable platform for the audio circuitry.
