The Gryphon Essence Preamplifier is a pure Class A line preamplifier developed from technologies created for Gryphon’s flagship Pandora preamplifier. Designed and built in Denmark, its true dual-mono architecture combines fully discrete, DC-coupled Class A circuitry with zero global negative feedback and an exceptionally short signal path, preserving transparency, dynamic expression and musical detail.
A high-speed discrete Class A input buffer, fully regulated ultra-low-noise power supplies and local shunt regulation provide an exceptionally quiet and stable platform for the audio circuitry. A 43-step fully balanced relay volume attenuator uses a minimal number of ultra-precision resistors in the signal path, while four balanced and two single-ended inputs provide extensive system flexibility. Optional MM/MC phono and PCM/DSD DAC modules allow the Essence to form the centre of a complete high-end system.
