Marten Mingus Quintet 2 Speakers
The Marten Mingus Quintet 2 is a high-performance three-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed and manufactured in Sweden. It combines a 0.75-inch Accuton Cell pure diamond tweeter with a 5-inch ceramic midrange driver and three 7-inch aluminium sandwich bass drivers. The diamond tweeter offers exceptional diaphragm rigidity and extended high-frequency performance, while the ceramic midrange is engineered for low distortion and clarity. The aluminium sandwich bass drivers incorporate long-excursion motor systems and concealed surrounds, providing substantial low-frequency authority and dynamic capability. With a specified frequency response of 24Hz to 100kHz, the Mingus Quintet 2 offers exceptional bandwidth from a relatively compact floorstanding enclosure.
The Mingus Quintet 2 incorporates a carefully refined first-order crossover, designed to preserve time and phase coherence between its drive units. Premium components include copper-foil air-core coils, silver/copper foil capacitors and custom-made resistors, complemented by Jorma internal wiring. Its tapered cabinet combines substantial fibre laminate construction with solid wood top and bottom panels, internal bracing and advanced damping materials to minimise unwanted resonance. Integrated Marten Isolators, developed with IsoAcoustics, provide further mechanical isolation from the floor, while four levels of bass adjustment allow the loudspeaker to be carefully integrated into different listening environments. An optional Statement Edition introduces upgraded crossover components and Jorma Statement internal wiring.
