Marten Mingus Septet Speakers
The Marten Mingus Septet is a reference-level four-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed and manufactured in Sweden. Its seven-driver configuration combines a custom 1-inch pure diamond tweeter, 3-inch pure beryllium upper-midrange driver, 7-inch ceramic midrange driver and two 8-inch aluminium sandwich bass drivers, supported by two rear-mounted 10-inch aluminium sandwich passive radiators. This carefully selected combination of diaphragm materials allows each driver to operate within a dedicated frequency range, with the diamond and beryllium units providing exceptional high-frequency and midrange precision, while the ceramic and aluminium drivers deliver controlled lower-midrange reproduction and substantial bass extension. The Mingus Septet offers a specified frequency response of 23Hz to 60kHz.
The Mingus Septet incorporates Marten’s first-order crossover architecture, engineered for time and phase coherence across its four frequency bands. Premium components include copper-foil air-core coils, silver/copper oil-paper capacitors, silver/gold capacitors and custom resistors, complemented by Jorma internal wiring. Its substantial tapered cabinet combines 25–40mm fibreboard laminate construction, advanced internal damping and carefully selected solid wood or lacquered top and bottom panels. Integrated Marten Isolators, developed with IsoAcoustics, provide mechanical isolation from the floor, while four levels of bass adjustment allow the loudspeaker to be carefully integrated into different listening environments. An optional Statement Edition introduces upgraded crossover components and Jorma Statement internal wiring.
