The Brinkmann 12.1 is a precision-engineered gimballed tonearm designed by Helmut Brinkmann to deliver exceptional tracking accuracy with the reduced tracking error of a true 12-inch arm. Designed and manufactured in Germany, it is not simply a longer version of the 10.5, but a fundamentally re-engineered design with increased torsional rigidity and improved resonance control to preserve the performance benefits of a longer effective length.
A rigid aluminium arm tube, precision zero-play double gimbal bearings and a fixed headshell contribute to its clarity, transient speed and precise retrieval of musical detail. Infinitely adjustable azimuth, magnetic anti-skating and a split-collar counterweight allow precise cartridge setup and compatibility with cartridges weighing between 4 and 16g, while the approximately 14g effective mass makes the 12.1 an excellent partner for a wide range of modern moving coil cartridges.
