Lori Lieberman Feat. Fink - Perfect Day LOSW012 Vinyl

In November 2024 the pure Analogue label, LowSwing Records, released the new album, “Perfect Day” by the renowned singer-songwriter from America, Lori Lieberman (best known for “Killing Me Softly”). Produced by Guy Sternberg, the album contains Lieberman’s unique interpretations of songs by Lou Reed, The Cure, Tracy Chapman, Scott Walker and Ron Sexsmith, and includes two of her own heartfelt compositions. The unusual choice of songs, not normally a part of her repertoire, presented an opportunity for Lieberman to go outside the box, while still inserting her personal stamp she has become most known for.

LowSwing Records’ respected artist, Fink joins Lori on a duet for the title song, Perfect Day by Lou Reed. Burden and Gift, a song written by Lieberman and Wendy Waldman, features another stirring duet with Lori and LowSwings’ recording artist, Alon Lotringer.
Some would say this was meant to be- while Lori was towards the end of her concert tour in Denmark and Switzerland, she was able to arrange her schedule to record the completely analogue album all within just two days, at the new LowSwing Studio in Berlin.

The A team musicians who were cast perfectly for this ambitious project and whose talents contributed to the excitement and authentic feel that is a clear part of this record are: drummer Earl Harvin (Seal, Tindersticks, Jeff Beck, The The), pianist Doron Segal (Fink), bassist Oliver Potratz (“Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis” award winner), Iceland’s phenomenal guitarist, Daniel Böðvarsson and on bass clarinet, James Scannell.

Pressed at Optimal Media using the unique “One Step Processing” assuring crystal clear transients and high frequencies on the record.
