Following the acclaimed The LowSwing Sessions (LOSW010 2024), Fin Greenall (FINK) returned to LowSwing Studio in Berlin for a second completely analogue recording session. The result is a level of interaction, commitment and spontaneity that can only exist when every performance is captured in real time.

If the first LowSwing Sessions explored an idea, Vol. 2 proves the concept.

Recorded in November 2025 over three days, every performance on the album is a complete take by all musicians playing together in one room. No computers. No editing. No overdubs. No digital processing. As Fin Greenall writes in his liner notes: "The moment where everything lines up just enough and you stop thinking and just play and then something special happens. The tape just happens to be the witness."

The result is a collection of deeply personal reinterpretations of songs by PJ Harvey, Jimi Hendrix, Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Morrissey and The Cure, alongside FINK's own unmistakable musical voice. Rather than recreating familiar recordings, the band approaches each song as a living composition, finding new spaces, new dynamics and entirely new emotional perspectives.

The critically acclaimed debut album by Alon Lotringer on LowSwing Records (In Light, LOSW006, 2021) was marked by both artistic triumph and profound adversity. Created during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the album emerged under challenging circumstances, yet was widely recognised as a powerful and distinctive work. Tragically, on the very night of its Berlin release concert, a devastating fire destroyed LowSwing Studio, the home of LowSwing Records, consuming the recording space, master tapes, and a significant number of album copies.

It would take Lotringer five years to return to LowSwing and begin work on a new record. This resulting album is a deeply personal collection of eight songs, reflecting on both intimate relationships and broader world events, capturing a period of reflection, loss, and renewal.

At the heart of the album stands Lotringer himself, performing all vocals as well as bass, guitars, and keyboards. He is joined by acclaimed drummer Earl Harvin (Jeff Beck, Tori Amos, Tindersticks) and Icelandic guitarist Daníel Friðrik Böðvarsson.

Described by Rolling Stone magazine as possessing a “rare songwriting gift fusing melancholy with emotional depth, always leaving a spark of hope,” singer-songwriter Mika Hary returns with her new mini-album Deux Faces, out November 21st 2025 on Berlin’s analogue label LowSwing Records.
This release follows her acclaimed debut When Morning Comes (BMG France, 2018) and features a collection of original songs alongside a gem by Leonard Cohen. Joining Hary are long-time LowSwing collaborators — bass virtuoso Haggai Cohen-Milo, guitarist Daníel Friðrik Böðvarsson, drummer Amir Bresler as well as guest appearance by Saxophon and Flute player Omri Abramov — all celebrated for their performances on albums by Fink, Lori Lieberman, Veronika Morcher and many more.

Hary has previously toured with Rufus Wainwright as the opening act on his French tour and has performed extensively across New York and France, including at the Philharmonie de Paris.

In early 2025, Andreas Scholl, one of the world’s most celebrated countertenors, renowned for his pure tone and emotional depth and Edin Karamazov, the master lutenist known for his work with Sting, the Hilliard Ensemble, and many others, came together at LowSwing Studio in Berlin to record their new songbook LP In Darkness, released on the analogue label LowSwing Records.

The album was produced and recorded by Guy Sternberg producer, sound engineer, and founder of LowSwing who described it as “a singer-songwriter album of the 17th century.”

Scholl and Karamazov share a musical friendship that spans more than three decades, and their performances radiate the trust, subtlety, and deep understanding that only years of collaboration can bring.

In Darkness features a collection of Baroque and Renaissance folk songs, including works by John Dowland, the most celebrated English composer of the Renaissance. While both artists have revisited some of these songs in the past, this recording reveals a new depth of expression—each take was recorded live in the studio, directly to master tape, with no edits or manipulation. What the listener hears is a pure, unembellished performance—two mature artists at the height of their powers, without studio tricks or cosmetic polish.

This album also marks a milestone: it is the first-ever vinyl release featuring the voice of Andreas Scholl, whose previous recordings have only been available in digital formats.
