Fischer & Fischer is a German loudspeaker manufacturer known for building speaker cabinets from natural slate.
Slate is used because of its mass, layered structure and very low tendency to store and release energy in the way conventional wooden cabinets can.
This is the central point of the brand: cabinet material is treated as a core performance issue. By reducing cabinet vibration, Fischer & Fischer loudspeakers allow the drivers and crossover to work with less added coloration. The result is a controlled, stable presentation with strong imaging, clean bass and a low level of enclosure character.

The FISCHER & FISCHER SN/SL 570 is a reference three-way floorstanding loudspeaker engineered to deliver exceptional scale, dynamic expression and musical realism. Designed and manufactured in Germany, its cabinet is constructed from low-resonance natural slate, providing an exceptionally inert enclosure that allows the drive units to perform with outstanding precision while minimising cabinet coloration.
Twin 220mm bass drivers with carbon-paper foam sandwich diaphragms, twin 180mm carbonised paper midrange drivers with aluminium phase plugs and a custom-built Mundorf Air Motion Transformer contribute to its clarity, transient speed and precise retrieval of musical detail. A phase- and impedance-corrected crossover, bi-wire terminals with pure silver links and the substantial natural slate enclosure preserve tonal neutrality, timing and dynamic expression across the full frequency range.
